Date 15th May: Revenue Minister Mr Chandrakant Patil informed that the State Government’s stand regarding Medical PG Courses admission process is highly optimistic and assured that even a single student who has already initiated the admission process through Maratha Reservation quota will not be affected during the Medical Post Graduation admission process. The legal aspects in the Medical PG courses admission process are being studied and the legal procedure has been started to find a solution. Also, the permission has been requested by the Chief Election Office with reference to the proceedings of this matter. The Revenue Minister and the President of the cabinet sub-committee formed for the Maratha Reservation Demand, Mr Chandrakant Patil assured that the Government will be successful to find out an effective workout on this issue.
Recently, Revenue Minister Mr Patil conducted a meeting with Maratha community students, parents, and Maratha leaders in order to address the issue of Medical Post-Graduation Admission courses on the basis of reservation offered to the Maratha community. Meanwhile, these students have initiated their admission process through Maratha reservation quota, however, due to the decision of the Supreme Court their admission has been cancelled and the process is in question. During this meeting, Mr Patil clarified the stand of State Government in this scenario. As per the government’s stand Maratha students will not suffer due to this situation and the Government will be able to find successful work out on this problem.
According to Mr Patil, Maratha student’s Medical Post Graduation admission process has been interrupted due to the technical issue raised in between. But Chief Minister has instructed to find a practical workout on this technical issue that will subsequently assure the admission to Maratha students through declared reservation quota. Also, for further processing, the election commission has been requested the permission to work on this matter. Additionally, the Supreme Court has been requested through an application to extend the admission process deadline from 25th May to 31st May and this will aid in adding more time. In addition to this, the Central Government has been requested to avail additional quota for Medical Post Graduation admission in order to secure the Martha community reservation share.
As mentioned earlier, the election commission’s permission is awaited and after their confirmation, the State Government is committed to start the legal proceedings in this matter. Mr Patil conveyed that the State government stand is clear enough to give assurance to the Maratha community students about their smooth admission process for Medical PG courses through declared reservation quota.
