Mr.Chandrakant Patil On Sports Culture Development in Kolhapur

Guardian Minister of Kolhapur district deeply understands the affection and passion of the people of Kolhapur towards different sports, especially the types of sports which have originated from the Kolhapur city such as wrestling. Being one of the sensible and responsible ministers in the current cabinet, he has taken one decision to promote sports culture in the Kolhapur district in different ways.

Kolhapur district Guardian Minister and State Revenue Minister Mr. Chandrakant Patil have shown enthusiasm and diplomacy in various political decisions which turn out to be strategic decisions in favour of the Bhartiya Janata Party.

While felicitating different successful sport’s personalities from Khelo India National competition on behalf of District Sports Centre, the district Guardian Minister Mr. Chandrakant Patil expressed his feelings about the rich sports culture of the Kolhapur district and how the Kolhapur city is recognized on the world map for its sports-related activities.

According to Mr. Chandrakant Patil, the government is making efforts to improve the sports culture in the youth. Earlier our progress with reference to sports was somewhat unsatisfactory and the major reason behind this was the unavailability of sufficient funds for the sports and its infrastructure. But now the situation is changing, the district planning committee will contribute a specific amount only for sports purpose and any upcoming sportsman can get the benefit of this fund availability. District Guardian Minister Mr Patil also added that Kolhapur is always recognized for sports and worldly players. The same tradition is being continued by the current players who won 38 medals in the Khelo India competition. The history of Kolhapur emphasizes on wrestling, football, etc. but now Kolhapur sports eminent are active in all sports categories and he has a plan to motivate them for Olympic competition qualifying round and participation. The government is planning to prepare at least 12 players from Kolhapur district who shall be able to qualify for the Olympic competitions and participate in it.

Revenue Minister Mr. Chandrakant Patil also added that the state government is always positive and motivational towards sports culture and its enhancement. It is also observed that sports are considered a career option for the young generation. The prize, honorarium, and remuneration amounts have also been increased for the sportsman and associated stakeholders. There is a provision to appoint state, national or international players directly in government service. Due to this decision, many sports fellows are appointed in the government service. Recently 32 sportsmen got the government service opportunity due to their bright success in the sports.

Agriculture minister, Mr. Chandrakant Patil seems very promising and positive towards sports and sportsman. This type of support and backing is necessary to boost the sports culture in Kolhapur district that can give re-identification and recognition to the Kolhapur district on the world map for its sports activities. Mr. Chandrakant Patil also assured for the infrastructural availability for different sports and its practice in the district. If every political leader shows this type of approach towards sport and provides sound backing with fund availability for the sports, definitely the sports culture in the country will boost dramatically and India can create history in future Olympics.
