“It has been decided to provide tanker water and fodder camp facility until sufficient fodder and water stock is available” -Chandrakant Dada Patil

Revenue Minister of the state, Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil informed that the tanker water supply and fodder camp facility in the state will be provided until there is sufficient fodder and water stock. Meanwhile, it is expected that the Monsoon will commence from mid June in the state, said  Mr Chandrakanta Dada Patil who also happens to be the head of the Drought Relief Sub Committee which is established for implementing drought relief plans in the drought-hit area. Mr Patil also informed about the innovative step taken by the Drought Relief Committee to start fodder camps for sheep and goat in the state and accordingly, first such fodder camp has been started in Sangola Taluka. 

Today Drought Relief Sub Committee meeting was held under the headship of Revenue Minister. During this meeting, Mr Patil reviewed different plans which were implemented and actions taken in order to combat the drought situation. The meeting was also attended by Corporation Minister, Mr Subhash Patil, Tourism and Employment Guarantee Scheme, Minister, Mr Jaykumar Rawal, Agriculture Secretary Mr Eknath Davle, Help, and Rehabilitation Secretary Mr Kishor Raje Nimbalkar.

During this meeting, Mr Patil informed that as of today 1583 fodder camps are operational in the state and in total 10 Lakhs 68 Thousand  375 cattle are being sheltered in these camps. During this drought season, Aurangabad region has been distributed with funds of Rs 135.18 Crore, Pune region with Rupees 5.07 Crore funds and Nashik region with Rupees 47 Crore funds. Also, the Animal Husbandry Department has been assigned with Rupees 13.81 Crore funds. Along with this, the system is also instructed to provide advance payments to the fodder camps. 

In addition to this, 4920 villages and 10506 colonies are facilitated with 6209 tankers for regular water supply.  Another relieving factor with regards to the drought situation is that Monsoon will commence in the state from 17th June; hence it will be a great beginning for different projects undertaken through the Jalyukta Shivar campaign for rainwater harvesting purposes. Further to this, drought relief funds are also being distributed to the farmers and 47005 farmers are the beneficiaries of this scheme. For this purpose, Rs 4419 Crore have been distributed as of now. The State Government is also reinforcing the employment opportunity to the labourers and to accomplish this under the Employment Guarantee Scheme, 38 Thousand 811 tasks are in progress and 3 Lakhs 77 Thousand 328 labourers are involved in different tasks. 

Instructed the authorities to provide an investigative report of the Banana crop in Jalgaon.

Unexpected raining in Jalgaon harmed Banana crop substantially. In this situation, Revenue Minister has instructed authorities to provide an investigative report on the Banana crop losses. He also promised the farmers with the strong support of the State Government through compensations and help.
