Briefing By Chandrakant Patil On the Undertaken Drought Relief Measures Extension given till 15th June to Water supply works for the availability of drinking water
To overcome this drought condition in Maharashtra, all Guardian ministers of respective districts have conducted a detailed review of their districts to assess the drought situation. There will be a preferential implementation of drought relief programs too in these areas. Also, the tender submission for water supply projects would be extended until 15th June.
The Help and Rehabilitation Minister, Mr. Chandrakant Patil informed regarding these decisions during the press conference, which was subsequently organized after the meeting of the drought relief subcommittee in the assembly.
Mr. Patil informed that major efforts have been taken to provide drinking water in all drought-affected areas and there will be a special tanker water service to provide drinking water. Additionally, Railway System can also be incorporated for water supply purposes.
Mhaswad village of Man Taluka, Satara district has given special permission for the fodder camps to allow 10,000 cattle as an exceptional case. Also, the State Government has instructed authorities to provide a computerized system in fodder camps for tracking the cattle. To achieve this, all the cattle in the fodder camps are registered with barcode tags.
This press conference was also attended by the Finance Minister, Mr. Sudhir Mungantiwar, Water Resources Minister Mr. Girish Mahajan and Animal Husbandry Minister Mr. Mahadev Jankar.
