World Environment Day—5th June 2019

World Environment Day (WED) is a campaign celebrated every year by the different countries in the world on the 5th of June. This movement was started to increase and promote global awareness among people about environmental issues and to assure positive environmental actions from their side. It is handled by the United Nations Environment Programme and was started by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972. It is a day to look at the current environmental conditions, problems, hazards to make the environment better and to improve the environmental conditions. It is celebrated by people in more than 100 countries. It is the day when the masses and politicians collaboratively work through awareness programs regarding environmental issues to improve political attention as well as public response. It is also celebrated to encourage people to improve their approach and thought process towards the environment for making a safe future for us and our future generations too.
WED was established and started with various plans, agenda, and objectives to remove and minimise all the environmental issues and hazards from this planet and make it truly a beautiful planet. It was required to establish this special event to work on environmental problems, hazards and give people an introduction about environmental issues and its significance. Its motive is to help us to understand the significance of a healthy environment for our healthy and enriched life and to empower masses to be the active workers of sustainable and environment-friendly development worldwide.

The BJP Government Initiatives
On behalf of Honourable Agriculture Minister Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil,we wish you all a very happy world environment day!! The BJP Government has always contributed to its best initiatives for environmental protection and safety. The Central Government has made a roadmap to plant 125 trees in 5 years giving a huge boost to the environment. On this World Environment Day, Mr Chandrakant Patil has urged people to be aware of the environment and have asked each one to plant saplings. He also has urged people to save water too and help in making a little contribution towards the betterment of the environment. The BJP government’s Swachh Bharat campaign is highly appreciable and it has created awareness in people’s mindset about environmental cleanliness. River cleaning projects such as ‘Namami Gange’, Namami Brahmaputra’ are innovative practices and helped retain the beauty of our country. India’s participation in the consortium for global warming and efforts taken to minimize it are also remarkable.
Let’s plan today for the security and protection of the environment with at least one resolution in mind — it can be a car/bike pooling or plantation or saving water or plastic-free life or cleanliness and help towards achieving it.
