Fodder Camps For Goat And Sheep- Honourable Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil
The Maharashtra State Government is busy in drought relief programs and various initiatives are being taken to overcome the severe drought situation in the state. Recently, Agriculture and Revenue Minister of the state Honourable Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil informed in the press conference that the tanker water supply facility will be availed for fodder camps in the drought-affected area; also the Maharashtra State Government has taken the innovative decision of starting fodder camps for goats and sheep.
Honourable Revenue Minister Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil informed that these decisions are taken during the drought relief subcommittee meeting. He informed that instructions are given to the authorities for not delaying the bill payments of fodder camps. Also, temporary toilet facilities can be availed at fodder camps. Drought relief committee decided to avail tanker water supply at fodder camps. Many times it is observed that women of the farmer’s family need to be present at fodder camp to take care of their cattle. In this situation, there should be the provision of temporary toilet facility at fodder camp and accordingly, the instructions are given to the authorities. The District administration department should be attentive in the payments of fodder camps; they should not delay this billing process. If cattle registration information is not available, in that case at least 80% of bills should be paid by the district administration. Also, farmers will be given permission to take their cattle for farming purpose.
Honourable Revenue Minister Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil informed that there is a fodder camp facility for different cattle, but it is decided to avail the fodder camp facility to goats and sheep. In this case, 25 rupees allowance will be paid for every goat and sheep. Honourable Mr Chandrakant Dada Patilinformed that Aurangabad regional commissioner is given with 111 Crore Rupees, for Pune region 4 Crore Rupees and Nashik region, 47 Crore Rupees funds have been distributed. Also, 6209 tankers are availing water supply at 4920 villages and 10506 colonies. Honourable Agriculture Minister Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil informed that under the crop insurance scheme 34 Lakh farmers are given 2200 Crores of compensation.
The Drought Relief Subcommittee meeting was organised recently and these decisions were taken. The other attendees for the meeting were Finance Minister Honourable Mr Sudhir Mungantiwar, Rural Development Minister Mrs Pankaja Munde, Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Mr Babanrao Lonikar, Dairy Development Minister Mr Mahadev Jankar, and Agriculture State Minister Mr Sadabhau Khot.
Meanwhile, it is also decided that if drought condition gets worse, the artificial raining attempts will be performed. And the state government has given permission for Artificial Raining experiments to fight against drought situation.
Different initiatives undertaken by the State Government for Drought Relief purpose are highly appreciable and worthwhile. Honourable Agriculture Minister Mr Chandrakant Dada Patil is highly efficient in taking different decisions in favour of the farmers. His social responsiveness and attachment towards farmers and labours are always noticed and tough decisions regarding drought relief purpose showcase his efficient leadership and decision-making abilities. The collaborative work of different state departments also demonstrates an exemplary work.
