Mr.Chandrakant Patil’s view on International Day of Families 15th May 2019

International day of families is celebrated on 15th May every year and it showcases the importance of families as basic units of society. This day promotes awareness of issues related to the family system and to increase the knowledge of the social, economic, and demographic processes affecting the family unit. This day is celebrated in a different manner, but the major focus is to highlight family values and its significance. The United Nations General Assembly declared that 15 May of every year shall be observed as the International Day of Families. The purpose of this international observation is to highlight the awareness of family-related issues and the significance of the family system. This event also inspired different countries to create their own family days or events to bring attention to family issues. Worldwide activities to celebrate this day include workshops, seminars and conferences, radio, television and web programs, newspaper articles and cultural programs highlighting the relevant theme of the family day.
The theme of International Day of Families 2019
The theme of International Day of Families 2019 is: “Families and Climate Action: Focus on SDG13”.
Previous themes for the family day celebrations include different aspects such as education, well-being, gender-equality, challenges in disabilities, poverty challenge, HIV/AIDS, etc. For 2019 International Family Day, the theme is revolving around climatic issues, changes and its impacts on the family.
Family Day Celebrations in India
India is the country which adores family values for many centuries. All mythological evidence proves that India addresses and respects family values and its underlying principles such as care, sharing, commitment, love, etc. In India international day of families is celebrated on 15th May every year and it acknowledges the importance of families in Indian perspective. Different organizations, NGOs celebrate this day and promote the participation of family members in different events. In different corporate cultures also, this day is celebrated to introduce family members of the employees with the remaining staff. The day is also cherished with family events such as picnics; get together, reunion where all family members are included. Various entertaining activities such as music, dance, drama, etc. are performed on this day. This day is also celebrated in simple ways, such as spending time together with family, watching movies or cooking for the family, etc.

Before finalizing his marriage decision, he promised his wife that he will take care of his both families and he proved it with his actions.
