Hence, he is popularly given the tag Dada and is dearly called Chandrakant Dada Patil. He is totally a people's man.
Maratha Community to Get an Interest-Free Loan
Chandrakant Dada Patil's efforts have been clear in this matter to provide interest-free loans to the Maratha community. The Government has made a customized loan package which includes personal loans, from banks, for the Maratha community. The State Government had to bear the interest. Where many proclaimed it as a burden, Chandrakant Patil made it clear that it is for his people and State government is not at all looking at it as a burden. Patil ji said, “Interest-free loans will be distributed by the Annasaheb Patil Finance Development Corporation (APFDC) for which over ₹1,200Crores will be made available to the APFDC.”
The director of APFDC, Sucheta Bhikane, said that a delegation of the Maratha community met Ranjit Patiol, Minister of State for Skill Development, on Wednesday. A formal announcement will be made in a fortnight and will cover the three categories of beneficiaries, she added. During the first segment, personal loans of amount ₹1-10 Lakh with an interest rate of 12% will be distributed. Ms. Bhikane talking about the second form said that it would be facilitated through banks. There would be group loans, ranging between ₹10 Lakh and ₹50 Lakh, bearing an interest rate of 12%. The third segment will be made available to farmers, that is to producer organizations directly from the APFDC.
The delegates present said that the Banks normally insist on Income Tax Returns for three years preceding the year when the loan gets distributed. This would help to avail loan to set up a business for the first time. This is a scope and opportunity. Another delegate explained, when the loans sought to set a business in the service industry, banks only provide 35% of the project cost, which needs to be increased to at least 70%.
